Insurance:

We are “out of network” for all insurance companies. This means that none of the therapists at Child & Family Counseling Group take insurance.

Many of our clients, however, have PPO-types of insurance, and are reimbursed at least partially by their medical insurance company for our services.

Please be aware that medical insurance companies require a diagnosis of a mental disorder in order to reimburse for psychotherapy, limit the amount and quality of your care, and may make the intimate details of your life available to third parties.  For these reasons, we do not accept direct payment from insurance companies.

We understand, though, that for some clients the financial benefits of insurance reimbursement outweigh the privacy concerns.  We are happy to provide a bill which includes the diagnosis and treatment codes most insurance companies require, which can be submitted by you to your insurance company along with your claim form for reimbursement.

If you decide to submit a claim for reimbursement through your insurance, you will need to call your insurance company's Customer Service to determine what your insurance may cover. TELEHEALTH VIA OUT OF NETWORK PROVIDERS IS NOT COVERED IN MANY PLANS. For your convenience, we have created a list of questions to ask your insurance company and collected a list of the most commonly requested information: Questions for My Insurance Company

If you need to use your in-network coverage to pay for therapy, consider these options to find a therapist:

  • Ask your insurance company for a list of in-network child therapy providers in your area.

Search for a therapist who takes insurance on any of the following searchable therapist directories:

In compliance with the No Surprises Act (HR 133), Child & Family Counseling Group wants you to know you have the right to ask for and receive a “Good Faith Estimate” outlining how much therapy is likely to cost. The estimate would include details of expected services, service and diagnostic codes, and fees.  Since the length of therapy may vary, the estimate would reflect per-session costs of $245.00, as well as the estimated amount for a year of therapy.

For questions or more information about your right to a Good Faith Estimate, visit www.cms.gov/nosurprises
